How to See a Doctor/Advanced Nurse Practitioner

appointments

You can make an appointment with any doctor or the Advanced Nurse Practitioner in the Practice. We have surgeries starting from as early as 7.30am some mornings until early evening.

All consultations are by appointment only.  These are pre-bookable up to one week in advance.  If you registered for the online services, it is also possible to pre-book an appointment through the online appointment system.

Please try to avoid phoning first thing in the morning for routine appointments.

Please remember that our Advanced Nurse Practitioner has completed additional training and achieved qualifications which enable her to carry out assessments, make diagnoses and referrals in the same way as a Doctor.

If your concern is urgent and you need to see a doctor the same day, we do have a triage system in place where the receptionist will take a note of your symptoms and your contact telephone number and a doctor will call you back and decide from there the best course of action.

Please note that it is not always possible to see the Doctor of your choice and you will be allocated an appointment with whichever Doctor is on duty that day or the Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

Keep it or Cancel It

If you have an appointment which you no longer require or are unable to keep, please inform us as soon as possible.  We need to know at the very least, one hour in advance so as to offer the appointment to someone else who needs it.

We do have issues with patients missing appointments which could have been otherwise used for other patients in need.  Repeated failure to cancel/attend appointments will lead to removal from the Practice.
