Unfortunately due to an unforeseen  reduction in GP and Advanced Nursing Practitioner resources the Practice is unable to offer as many appointments per week as has previously been the case.     Advertisements have already been placed and every effort is being made to recruit a GP/Advanced Nursing Practitioner.

With effect from Wednesday, 25 September 2019 the majority of appointments will be bookable only on an “on the day” basis. There are some appointments available between 7.30am and 8.10am and a few will be bookable online up to one week in advance.  If you telephone and there are no appointments left for that day, regrettably we can only ask that you try again the following day.

The triage system, whereby anyone who requires urgent medical attention will remain in place.  Anyone who requires to see a Doctor should give the fullest details to the receptionist who will pass on this information without delay to allow a Doctor to call the patient back and consider how best to proceed.  PLEASE DO NOT ABUSE THIS AND ONLY ASK FOR A DOCTOR TO CALL BACK IF IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY.

Requests for HOME VISITS must be made before 10.30am in order to enable the Doctors to prioritise these visits.

Finally please remember that the Doctors and staff at the Practice are as concerned as you are that this situation has arisen.  If unfortunately there are no appointments left when you call there is nothing we can do but ask you to try again the next day.  Venting your frustration on the reception staff by being rude or abusive will not remedy the situation, suddenly create the appointment you desire or lessen the stress for you or them.    It is all the more important that you ensure you attend any appointment you have booked and if you no longer require that appointment please telephone at the earliest opportunity to cancel it.

On-line prescription requests

You can request your repeat prescriptions quickly and easily through our online prescription service.

To register for this service, please complete the registration form attached and email, post or hand it into the Surgery.  Please allow 7-10 days before collecting your activation details from Reception for this service.  

When you log into your account you will see a list of your eligible repeat items. Simply tick the appropriate boxes and click to request the selection. You will get a confirmation email to let you know the request was sent to the Practice successfully.

There is also an option to order something which is not showing on your repeats list.  Please remember to give a short explanation as to why you require this in order for the GP to assess the clinical need.

You can view the progress of the repeat requests along with a summary of all your requests from the past 3 months. You will not be able to 'over request' your medication.
